Some of our team attended the St John’s Hospice Easter Fayre on the weekend of 19/20 March 2016.

St John’s Wood Gardens was filled with families from the local community and the total raised was £35,000 at the first of one of the much-anticipated Fayres held throughout the year. Activities for children to enjoy included an Easter Egg Hunt, a funfair, the chance to meet and greet with Peppa Pig and donkey rides and a BBQ. Meanwhile local traders lined the park selling delicious food, clothes, jewellery, books and much more.

Sponsored by Barclays St John’s Wood, Hamptons International, Yasmeen Restaurant and Casualty First, the day could not have gone ahead without loyal volunteers.

The generous support of the local community helps St John’s  to continue to deliver expert palliative care services on-site and in the community completely free of charge. Upcoming events include Make a Will Fortnight during April 18-29, Paint the Park Pink on May 8 and a range of challenge events.

Check out the St John’s Hospice website for more information. Tower Transit provided a Double Deck bus from Lea Interchange driven and looked after by Marwyn from Atlas Road on both days. The bus was very busy with children given the chance to sit in the driving seat of a London bus and have their photo taken.

Cycle Training UK visited our Atlas Road Depot in Park Royal on 17th February to offer staff advice on safe cycling, cycle maintenance and how to apply for professional instruction. This “Cycle with Confidence” training has been sponsored by Ealing Council for people living, working or studying in Ealing.

Christine Gayle the Operations Manager at Atlas Road said “I was pleased to work with Cycle Training UK and Ealing council as we encourage our staff to cycle to work and it also raises awareness of cycling in the borough and helps both groups discuss how they share the road”.

We hope we may be able to organise more of these awareness sessions at our other Depots soon and if you are interested in Professional cycling instruction call Cycle Training on 0800 093 6454 or visit www.cycletraining.co.uk
