Due to a new route win we are now recruiting PCV licence holders and car licence holders looking for a new career.


We have not had an opportunity to invite applicants to Westbourne Park for many years so this is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to work in a busy Central London location.

 
Along with our existing fleet, we will be welcoming in a large number of new double deck buses early next year and also the exciting prospect of our new bus deck opening.

Various parts of the garage have been upgraded over the last few years including the canteen within the building. Travelling links to the garage are great with an Underground station across the road and a fantastic network of buses.

No more than 3 penalty points on your licence

No driving bans in the last 5 years

You must be flexible in your approach to work and prepared to work shifts

You must possess good customer service skills

You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

You must have a UK/EU passport or leave to remain  and work in the UK
with at least 12 months remaining before the date of expiry

ON-STREET INSPECTORS

We are now looking to recruit On Street Inspectors across our London depots. The primary function of this role is to assist the Depots in achieving and maintaining services to the agreed targets whilst achieving a high level of customer satisfaction, a key role is ensuring that vehicle and driver presentation standards are achieved and maintained.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling services ensure punctuality or headways are maintained as appropriate.
  • Responsible for communicating with customers and offering help advice and guidance as applicable.
  • Responsible for providing assistance to drivers whilst they are out on the roads.
  • Responsible for reporting on quality and cleanliness of vehicles and drivers.
  • Responsible for reporting on punctuality concerns in relation to the service.
  • When the need arises be able to take charge of emergency situations.
  • Responsible for reviewing the driving standards of all staff and ensuring that issues are fed back or dealt with at the time.
  • Responsible for liaising with the police or other external bodies relevant to operation of services.
  • Responsible for supporting the company environmental policies including maximising recycling and reducing costs by switching lights, equipment and heating off when not required.
  • To undertake any additional reasonable duties at the request of your Line Manager.
  • To undertake any training and development activities at the request of your Line Manager.

 

Please note these roles are operational on a 24x7 basis and therefore shift work will be a feature. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate you can build strong working relationships with Radio (iBus) Controllers and Platform staff. It is essential that we ensure that there is a consistent team approach to achieving performance so we can ensure Tower Transit maintains its position within the London Bus market.

In order to be successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to customer service, with excellent communication skills both verbal and written including being able to share information.  You must also be able to demonstrate that you can make well reasoned and timely decisions on a regular basis.>

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

Closing Date: Monday 23 January 2016

We are now looking to recruit for a new Administrator to provide confidential administration support to the Group Engineering Director and senior members of the Engineering Team. This key role will be based at Perivale but the nature of the business means there may be a requirement to work at any of Tower Transit’s London offices.

Some of the key principals and responsibilities are outlined below :

  • Manage and co-ordinate the Directors diary and establish yourself as the primary contact point for all meetings to be arranged.
  • Provide comprehensive clerical support to the Director. This may include arranging couriers, faxing, typing, taking minutes, answering phone calls, responding to correspondence both written and by email ensuring that at all times issues are dealt with in a prompt, efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsible for booking conferences, making travel arrangements, hotel reservations and organising any associated business meetings.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective filing system and archiving.
  • Ensure that all monthly reports for all Group Companies are produced in a timely manner and that an Engineering information pack is produced for each Operating Company.
  • Establish yourself as a Freeway Super User and be in a position to provide training and produce reports to assistance colleagues across the business.
  • To undertake any additional reasonable duties at the request of the Line Manager.

 

We are looking for an individual with previous experience of undertaking an Administrative role, ideally within the transport industry. They will possess good organisational skills, be proficient on the phone, with strong written and verbal communication skills. They will be focused and able to work to tight deadlines whilst reacting to the changing needs of the business and continuing to be proactive in their approach.

It is essential that they are able to use the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word and Excel additionally we are looking for some one with good time management and communication skills whilst able to pay particular attention to detail. You will be able to work with minimal supervision, and knowledge of Freeway or the industry would be a distinct advantage
