Due to a new route win we are now recruiting PCV licence holders and car licence holders looking for a new career.


We have not had an opportunity to invite applicants to Westbourne Park for many years so this is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to work in a busy Central London location.

 
Along with our existing fleet, we will be welcoming in a large number of new double deck buses early next year and also the exciting prospect of our new bus deck opening.

Various parts of the garage have been upgraded over the last few years including the canteen within the building. Travelling links to the garage are great with an Underground station across the road and a fantastic network of buses.

Role Requirements:

Full current Driving Licence

No more than 3 penalty points on your licence

No driving bans in the last 5 years

You must be flexible in your approach to work and prepared to work shifts

You must possess good customer service skills

You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

You must have a UK/EU passport or leave to remain  and work in the UK
with at least 12 months remaining before the date of expiry

Job Benefits:

ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (ENGINEERING) APPRENTICESHIPS

Closing Date: 31 May 2017

The Apprentice training programme combines practical workplace training with classroom study and gives successful candidates the skills needed to work as an Engineering Technician. The role will involve working with the current technical engineering team to maintain and develop the Tower Transit bus fleet, including diagnostics, servicing, repairs, maintenance, preparing of vehicles for MoT.

The apprenticeship training programme will be accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) and last for 3 years. The training will consist of ‘on the job’ learning that will be undertaken at Tower Transit bus depots and students will attend The Manchester College for 8 per year to gain the underpinning knowledge. On completion of the 3 year programme apprentices will receive a nationally recognised qualification; PSV Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.

The working hours will be 39 per week Monday-Friday, whilst completing your apprenticeship.
The salary in the first year will be £242.25 per week. The training you will receive is :

• PSV Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Technical Certificate Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills
Applicants must be studying for or have qualifications in Maths, English and a Science or Craft based subject, to a minimum Grade C (GCSE).

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
